I knew than AMC and Renault had something going in the USA.
The 25 is a great car It is a really luxurious cheap Renault.

Err,

It was hardly cheap for those who bought it new :)

Just reading the history on that site was interesting. A former Renault boss was assassinated? Wow, I wouldn't have expected that!

Its a bit of worry this connection with assasinations and french cars - the DS limo that a french president was in during an attempt on his life saved it once. When they opened fire on his DS, they blew a tyre out - the driver had the presence of mind to lift up the affected rear tyre with the funky suspension control and escape the gunmen on three wheels. Some one once told me that Citroen got a bit of extra cash from the government after that...

Its odd to think how often Europeans have tried to break into the yank market (read a great article on the V4 Ducati that was built for the US police fleet, but was too powerful for the standard issue tyres that had to be used - used to literally tear them apart), never really seems to work though - not crude enough I guess.

Did anyone notice that these things have a ZF auto trans? wonder if its any better than Renaults effort.....
