Surviving 406 Coupes - Australia

Knowing there weren't a lot sold in Australia (approx 400 in AU/NZ http://www.406coupeclub.org/Coupe_Statistics.asp), how many are still about on the roads in Oz, and colour combination?

There are none for sale atm that aren't being disassembled.

I've got a silver D8 that is still registered and going - but haven't driven it for a while due to some oil leaks (and too many other cars!). I'm surprised how little interest there is 406coupes.

Mine's a 2002 dark blue with 150Km waiting for me to pull the engine and fix the cam cover leaks and cam belt while giving it a 'freshen up' and balancing. Have got a set of Simmons wheels to finish it off. All the best to all and KOKO.

I have a 2003 Granite Black V6 Auto that I acquired a few months ago. I’ve spent considerable $ and time on refurbishing it in the last few months and it’s like a new car now.

I often wonder where my old cosmos grey manual coupe ended up. It was sold by my youngest brother to someone on AF many years ago. Loved that car.

I’ve got a 2003 Diablo red with blown auto and a 2001 Galileo green manual. Both not registered and in “project” status.

There were x4 at the Peugeot Car Club Xmas event yesterday.

Based on feel and without any facts I’d say there is more than 60 left. Probably double that at least.

Hi Nigel, the 605 VIN in that list is missing a digit, should be 17 long and is only 16.

I bet it's a 'Z" - comes after 'UF'

1998 Yellow with 260,000km. Recently rebuilt the alternator as could not find a replacement. Not easy to get them out and in.
Auto gearbox has bad valve body I think as it hunts between gears so I drive it as a manual using the auto shifter.

Still use it a few times a week.

As I now live in northern NSW but work on the Gold Coast I have to get a yearly pink slip inspection. The day before I have to do a lot of oil wiping up under the motor. Those V6's like to leak.

Evening John,

No links on here, both cars are still available although someone is having the 2003 D9 reviewed on Monday at mechanics.
The 1998 D8 - is still available, has done a few km's but in good condition and regularly serviced, last timing belt was done in 2018 at Alpine Affaire.
The timing belt was done on the D9 in 2018 as well, and it has only travelled 10k km's since.

What size and model Simmons di you go for Kelpiebat? I have finally tracked down to wheels that were on the green WA car (reg 406 Coupe) that features in a couple of webpages and they are way too big to be practical. Concave Concept CC03 in a 19inch. 8.5's on the front and 9.5's on the rear. I have been looking for that style of wheel in an 18 x 7.5 or 8 with no luck. I have two Coupes. Feb 98 auto in Diablo Red and Sahara tan with sunroof(210,000) and a July 03 auto in Hades Grey and Tungsten (120,000).

Be interested to know how many facelift models were sold and survive. Hardly ever see them featured.
