Gladly relieved that I no longer have to turn off the eco button for the stop/start on my 308 T9 HDI. Now when I expect it to temporarily stop the engine the green light on the tacho flashes a few times but no longer temporarily stops the engine.

Is the car smart enough to work out I don’t want it on or is it indicating that something else is going on?

I would say there’s a good chance it’s the first indicator of the battery condition deteriorating.
As it gets low, the car won’t abuse it any more with the start/stop.

Our 2019 Vitara doesn’t have ss and I’m wondering if it’s to do with the WLTP test procedure which is substantially different to the old NEDC one.
The test procedure effectively designs the emissions minimising features so it’ll be interesting to see if it continues on other brands.
