S2 405 SRDT Temp Gauge (non-functional)

Hi All, first post, first Peugeot!

My god it's hard to find information on these cars...! I've been spoiled by the enormous amount of DIY info easily available online for BMW and Mercedes.

As per the above video, my temp gauge reads dead zero UNLESS the high beams are on, in which case it flings to the right. I found one other person online with the same issue, but no one answered his question, so I'm not sure where to go look to fix the issue.
 
Surely there's got to be a 405 whiz around here somewhere.... will pay for expertise with beer ;)
 
Umm. Sounds like either a grounding or a + aft ign supply to the instrument panel. Does the rest of the instrument panel function correctly? Does it do the same if you switch on the hazards?
