The RCZ THP200 got a code yesterday. Code P1339.

So, I phoned my master Pug mechanic, Wayne Botha (Gold Coast - 0413 942 026), and asked his advice. Straight away he told me it was a faulty ignition pencil coil. And then said that I could take the four out of the French Tart to get the RCZ going again.

Did it, and reset code. All is very well. FIXED.
Ordered these for the RCZ:

I don't take Wayne for granted, and I did ring him at his home at 6:30 pm. Twas only a 60 second conversation. I transferred $25 into his bank a/c. If I was your average punter, I would have to take it to the dealership, leave it there for the day, and most likely pay top price to have the coils replaced.

Cheers.

It probably is a bad coil, but you don't want to run EP6 plugs past, say, 40K and you can also swap the coils around as phantom coil faults are known to sometimes appear. Also, that fault is a general misfire fault for a particular cylinder, like P1337, P1338 etc., so it can also mean more than just a bad coil, especially if not by itself.
That was free, so value my commentary accordingly!

Cheers. The timing chain is spot on. No issues. I always replace pencil coils four at a time, and not that often. P1339 was cylinder three. When I replaced that coil, it was 'on the money' . . .

And, I replace plugs every 25,000.

Check this out - spark plugs. I know my two prince engines. The Tart's is 1st gen, and the RCZ's is 3rd gen.
