Hi,
Happy Laps must be about as much fun as you can have while remaining fully clothed!
RCCQ's lastHappy Lapsfor the year is coming up on Sunday 13 October at Qld Raceway. If you don't make it to this one, you will likely have to wait until about February next year. Can you contain your motoring equivalent of letting your hair down for that long? It is so nice to be able to just enjoy a bit of spirited motoring without the need to constantly check your speed or lookout for the boys/girls in blue. If you haven't participated in Happy Laps before, there is a good reason for the name, you should go home with a smile on your face. Happy Laps is a non-competitive event, it is not racing, nor sprints; you drive at a speed you are comfortable with and enjoy the motoring experience.

Interested? Please read the details below then email one of the contacts in the flyer with your booking request and preferably include your completed self-scrutineering form. You do need to book your place, just coming along on the day is not an option. The booking list is now open so don't leave it until the last minute to book. If you need more information, just ask.

NB, Sunday 13 October is also the day of the Bathurst 1000. Happy Laps is normally all over by about 8:30 am so you have sufficient time to drive home to watch the race start, which this year starts at 10:30 am AEST https://www.motorsport.com/v8supercars/news/2019-bathurst-1000-schedule/4538705/

You can come in any safe, roadworthy car.
At Happy Laps:

*You get to drive on a race track for about half an hour and you get breakfast as well

*You don’t need a special racing licence and you can use your normal roadworthy car. You don’t need a sporty car.

*It is great fun. There’s no easier or cheaper way to drive on the track!

*You can even take passengers!

*It is not at all scary! Why not give it a go?

However, there are some rules:

o You must book a place. You can’t just turn up!

o Only roadworthy road registered cars may participate.

o Cars must NOT have an after-market roll cage/bar fitted.

o You must NOT wear a helmet.

o You must NOT stop anywhere on the circuit.

o The Happy Laps session will be ended for EVERYBODY in the event of car to car contact, spins, excursions off the track, tyre smoking or any other evidence of ‘over-driving’.

o Speed is nominally limited to 120kph.

o You MUSTattend theDriver’s Briefingand obey the rules.

o Your entry fee buys a coloured wrist band, which covers your track time and breakfast. Members’ children under thirteen are admitted free.

o Everybody must be ‘drug free and alcohol free’. You may be required to undergo breath or other drug testing.

o Everybody must wear a seatbelt to go on the track.

o ‘Happy Laps’ is NOT a race or a flat-out sprint session!

o Drive at a speed where you feel comfortable and safe.
