R25 2.2l performance upgrades

Hi All,

There seems to be so much info for the Pugs, but has anyone ever done anything to the Douvrin 2.2l as fitted to the R25's?
I understand that the engine was also used in the 505 pugs as well?

Do Wade Cams do grinds? What else can be done?
Unfortunately my car is an auto - anyone got any spare UN1 'boxes out there or even the NG's?

If yours is an '88 model it would be tuned for 91 octane unleaded, which drops about 10kW over the previously leaded 25 motor. But you get to run the cheaper petrol. Something else to think about with a manual conversion is that the speedo is electronic, using a Fuego NG3 will require the gearbox to be stripped to replace the speedo sensor ring on the diff, and drill a hole for the speed sensor in the gearbox casing. Easier to keep looking for a "proper" manual trans car!
