i thought I would just share this here, as I was quite astonished with the result.
the LH and RH rear lens were faded and so might not pass RWC.
i heard of refurbishing these but using a model spray product Orange Translucent from Tamiya.
so cleaned them well, masked up the area and about 4 coats applied, and the results.
😁

I’ve used that hand brush “Lens restorer” but it makes it brittle and hairline cracks. That looks much better.

I to have used the brush on version but the results do have slight brush marks. This looks a better result.

Also used this spray. Very good results. Did the inside of the lense. Here's a colour chart.

PS paints are a special single purpose only: for polycarbonate as it says on the can. It does flake off. If that happens, buy the TS version (clear orange), that's for plastic. Even better, buy the little jar version and apply with a brush, you don't need that many coats and the jar will last forever (mine is 25 years old). Which is useful because the paint does not stand well against UV and you'll have to re-apply every couple of years or so.

Sunroof, you have to move quickly and not touch the paint once applied. If you want to dilute it to have more time to brush it on you can use Tamiya thinner, but you don't really need to do that. Just wait for the coat to dry and apply touchups or another coat if you feel like you need it.
