Pug404 clutch conversion

I would have thought that was a backward step - hydraulic clutches are usually nicer to drive than cable operated ones - huge generalization I know...

i was thinking the same ,from malaysia ,could be parts supply problem

I was also thinking it could be a parts supply issue.

404 clutch hydraulics are marginal, not enough travel at the clutch and keep getting air in the system. 504 / 505 ones may be hard to initially get the air out but then bleed themselves and work very well. FWD Peugeot cable clutches work very well, at least in the 205. I did drive a 306 HDi which was horrible.

I'd have thought the main challenge would be converting from a "pusher" system (hydraulic) to a "puller" system (cable) - without an additional intermediate lever/crank the cable would have to approach from the rearward side meaning a lengthy cable to achieve the travel?
