problem with P505, 32/35 tmima carburettor.

it's enrichment valve/power valve/economizer. it's covered with a diaphragm that has a point in the center, which pushes the ball when vacuum seizes during high load and allows more fuel to enter the 1st throat.

been a while, left the pug for some time and started messing around with my "new" mk6 Accord :D

i repaired the carby, sealed the enrichment valve with special loctite and it seems it doesn't leak, but the problem of banging in the exhaust remains. the engine doesn't idle very smoothly too. another problem is loud ticking or knocking only between say 1000-2000 rpm, sounds like tappets.
before installing the head for the last time i replaced the camshaft because the old one had a scratch or even a crack, the "new" camshaft was quite rusty in some places but it was the only one i got. is it possible the bangs and the noise are all from this camshaft?
