Hi new to this forum.
I have a 2012 508GT 2.2lt with 120k km.
I have found someone that can remap the ECU.
QUESTION:
What problems/tradeoffs (if any) may I expect?.
Power&torque gain will be only 20%. Increase.

Also can the gearbox handle this??

Blue Spark unit or similar might be the easiest way rather than the vagaries of remapping.
AM6 transmission is rated for 450 Nm continous use.

Thank you.
Blue spark is plug and play I read,
Have you done this to your 508gt 2.2lt?
And thanks I now got a name of my gearbox.
Up till now I have only known it as a
AISIN TF80SC.

continuously rated at 450nm you say.
With the occasional push of 520nm,
After upgrade, do you think it would be ok….??

Keep the gearbox maintained with fluid changes and if you are keen, supplemented cooling (depending on the setup in the pug this might be easy or hard, sorry i'm not sure).

The TF80SC came out in Volvos dealing with 480nm stock.

No i haven't used one on a 2.2 508, but did look into it for a citroen. All seemed pretty good but there is a small increase in emissions with a lot of extra power, torque and economy, according to blue spark and the reviews.
Suggest you google for reviews of those who have fitted it to you model.
There are a couple of varitations of the bluespark - again research to see which might work best in your application.

As crosspug2 mentions, there are applications of the same transmission with slightly higher torque. Like all autos, different clutch packs can change the rated value. I've no idea, but in the Volvo application it may be slightly uprated version.
That said, occasional use in the low 500's is likely to be ok - the rated spec is a safe value.
