Good
Strong 2 litre pushrod engine has had cylinder head work, new rings and liner seals and runs well. Weber 32/36 DFV.
3 speed auto. Original ZF box had fault and was replaced with ex-504 Borg Warner 35 which runs fine.
Many new parts including starter motor, blinker/light switch and ignition switch. Recent new ball joints, tie rod ends, front brake pads and tyres (Austone 185R14C 102/100R).
Trim is pretty good. Driver's seat has been re-covered in tweed. One repair in roof lining.
Many spares including front guards, towbar, manual pedal box and around 2 litres of paint.
Not so good
Roof needs some work. Original roof racks were fitted with self-tapping screws which developed rust around the holes. I have treated the rust and patched up the holes as best I could, but to be fixed properly the roof lining needs to be removed and the holes patched from the inside. Front right guard and two left doors could do with repainting.
Air con not working.
Be aware these early 505 wagons are pretty low geared, so highway speeds of 90 to 100 km/h are best to avoid over-revving the engine.
