The blower fan in my Peugeot 504 seems to be broken and I am wondering how I would go about fixing it. I’ve just had him down at the auto electricians and they didn’t want to remove it because they suspected it would involve removing the dash. I’ve also heard that the problem may be with the actual control lever on the interface however I can’t be certain. I’m wondering what the problem could be and the different ways I could go about fixing it. Regards Lachlan

......and from memory there is an early and late fan.
It can come out towards the gear lever but heater hoses will need to be disconnected.
Sometimes the job goes smoothly and sometimes the heater wants to be difficult.
Check the slide lever on the dash for contact, it maybe that simple.
When they muck up they tend to rumble with old age first.

The heater can be removed on all 504's without removing the dash.
Hoses are on the drivers side just left of the column.
The fan contol reostat often fails but you should be able to get a power shunt to the fan to prove if it is us.
I can supply a full heater box or just a working fan.

And I live just out of Mudgee if you want to chat and get a true pug mechanics opinion
