Does anyone know how to reset or determine the cause of the engine management light being lit?

This is for North American versions, so may be similar to AUS cars.....

I have the full Motronic 1.3 8V manual if you need it. Mike has the codes covered.

we tried it yesterday indicated 13 air temperature sensor which is part of the MAF. I don’t think it is replaceable. New MA F required?

I have one (it's the upper cover of the air filter box, isn't it?) from my CDN version 405 XU9J2 110 HP, if you're in a pinch. Located in Canada mind you!

If you can locate the sensor, it can be measured with a multimeter to check if it really is bad. The sensor is a thermistor and if you're lucky you can buy one from electronic parts suppliers and replace it without to much hassle. If you're really lucky yours is just dirty.

The same AFM is fitted to Mi16 and late 205 GTi. Just raid one of those.
