Peugeot 307 ABS fault ?

Car had anABS fault, light on scanned and it was a wheel sensor.
Replaced sensor but light still on.
Does the fault have to be cleared?

Sorry if confused , wondered if it was like the P206 airbag that clears the light on the dash once
you fix the problem ?
 
Yes, you always need to clear fault codes.

So on the P206 once the Air Bag fault is fixed and the light goes out as it runs the test i would still find the fault code on the scan?
Airbag light off but fault code still existing?
