Just doing a cam belt service on a P307 2 litre.
I was expecting it to the same as a 206 GTI but it is not.
Removed the harmonic balancer and find the cam sprocket not located by a key-way!
Once i loosened the bolt the gear slipped on the shaft
*Is it possible the dealer put the sprocket on the wrong way?
TDC is found how.
Presume the key-way is vertical to the bore?
Not sure what they have done because the harmonic balancer doesn't come apart like the GTI so you can do the crank bolt up, then put the belt on.
With this harmonic balancer you put the belt on , then cover and tighten the bolt and hope the crank doesn't turn?
Is this right?
If it is the Renault friction taper system is better.
