peugeot 306 timing belt

please help with advice i finally got diesel 306going but timing belt burning thru the covers it is about come off i don.t know what to do

As with most of your posts, you need to provide us with more context. Have you changed the belt? Clearly the belt or cover isn't installed correctly. The answer is probably as simple as 'fit the belt correctly' or 'fit the covers correctly'. Is it the right belt? Is the belt trying to 'walk off' the pulleys? If so, you probably have a pulley or idler misaligned.

Is this the engine that you changed from Lucas to Bosch injection pump?

yes thanks i did i belt replacement and pump something isn.t sitting right might be the pump cradle the belt is trying come off ,thank u

Then take the covers off and have a look. It might then be obvious.

Tensioner? Not to hard but firm enough, Check bolts on t
he tensioning assembly are all integral and whole (not broken) , this is what did mine in,

hi yes i seen it is the tensioner not sitting straight but nit sure how to do it i think it need like spacer were the locking nut goes

think it was because i didn.t put a bolt on the locking postion section
