Hi. Does anyone know the thread/fittings that would suit a Peugeot 205 power steering rack inlet and outlet.

i.e. the aim is to replacing the oem fittings with Speedflow style fittings and new hoses. So will probably need a metric to AN adapter for the rack. Just not sure on the thread and size.

Thanks.

We do this conversion on the race cars but we keep the standard high pressure line for the first steel section. Where it changes to rubber we cut that off and silver solder a dash fitting to the end of the steel pipe and run flexible PFTE style from there to the pump. Speedflow also have the fitting to go directly into the pump.

Thank you to you both very much.

Peter, always with an answer to the detailed questions :)

Adrian - would you happen to know the Speedflow fitting p/n?, or thread for the pump. Although I am running a Peugeot 306 pump - which may be different.

It’s called a bump tube adapter. I’ll need to check the thread tomorrow but I think it’s M14x1.5 to -6. Pumps are all the same.

It's M16x1.5 on the pump, thus 741-06-BLK. As Adrain said, you're better off leaving the last 6" oem steel tube to the rack, as it's nice and compact. Silver solder on a -6 weld on fitting, 999-06-S.

What Peter said. Note that the pumps we are using are MI16 pumps but i think they are the same.

A pic for you.
