interesting story, from memory , Miller went broke and the bank sold the business to the highest bidder, the ex head mechanic, offenhauser ,.there has also been talk of a trade off, some bugatti cars for Miller ex race cars ,so i don't recall the exact detail but there was defiantly some similarities or trading of design ideas going on there ,the Miller story is worth looking into, i read in a road and track mag many ,many years ago ,way ahead of there time heaps of alloy. front wheel drive race cars the offy /miller engines went on to win at indy for many years ,

HAVING A CLOSE LOOK THIS ENGINE IS A WORK OF ART FOR ITS TIME, MOST OTHER CARS OF THE PERIOD WOULD HAVE BEEN POWERED BY SOMETHING CLOSELY RESEMBLING A STATIONARY ENGINE ,[CAST IRON ] ID BE INTERESTED TO KNOW HOW THEY SEALED THE VALVE STEMS ENTERING THE CAM BOXES ,THOSE ALLOY CASTINGS ARE SOMETHING ELSE FOR THAT TIME ,MAYBE ITS THE PIC BUT IT SEEMS VERY TALL ,LONG STROKE
