We met in Castlemaine (when i think it was brother Dave's) in the late 70's, before they moved to northern new south. Subject ended up languishing, until very recently - the following shows the 'body-off' restoration now underway ...
Pretty aren't they. I'm thinking of wanting to swap my 203 for a 403. What do you reckon?

need more info...
would love to see a Restoration Projects thread for your '707' ( 203+504 ), too ... could start one with the photos i have, if you like

only swap if you fined a rust free 403, a wagon would be nice, do you remember these 403's in castlemaine...
the sedan was written off back in the 80's, hit by a big truck (sad)...

203s definitely have a charm of their own , however 403 are quieter and more practical ,
403 wagons are great, plenty of room, handle predictably on the gravel (fun on the old Bonang hwy)
I think most 403 wagons were worked to death by tradies etc in the 70s

My dad was a self employed plumber who bought a used 403 station wagon in the mid sixties. That poor old 403 was driven and abused to death. His concept of servicing was to fill with petrol, fill the tyres every ow and again and top up water and oil as necessary. That 403 was more reliable that you might imagine and was eventually passed on to my brother who drove it for some years. Great cars.

A 403b wagon with its heater that worked would be my pick if I could have any Peugeot from the past. You can buy a well maintained original 403 or a nicely restored one for less than a 203. Is that 1956 from Geelong still for sale?

-more than anyone it was Russell "O'rusty" who taught me to drive, in:

but a couple of years ago he bought the very green, very optimised;

which i reckon warrants a thread in it's own right.

l had the boot under the house rusting away & l needed to learn how to spray as l have never spayed a car before & it will stop the boot rusting...
car assembled, l will look into it & get back to you, the 203 van is from Ballarat VIC, sold Chris & car moved to Mornington, in 1974 my brother paid $300 for the van (Castlemaine VIC - Melbourne VIC), in 1980 l gave my brother a motor bike for the van (Bellingen NSW- Dorrigo NSW), drove the van till 1992, it's been sitting in the back shed waiting for me to put it back on the road...l still have the VIC number plate off the van, ZY.835...

NO was July 1949, mine was PC in May 1950, I remember an XS from 1953. Has anyone done a list of Victorian plate dates?

more sanding to do on the bonnet & only 3 doors left to do...
