Does anyone know whether a faster gear change kit is available for a 206 manual. It seems they may not be around and I may make one myself. If I do I'll let you all know.
Another question is, does the 1.6l 307 feel almost as torquee as it's 2.0l brother?I ask simply because I've found the 206 1.6l very close in performance around town as the 206 2.0l?

Griffiths Engineering in the UK do quickshifts for various pugs including 206s, have no idea what they are like to use though.

Thank you DTWO and Gary just the thing I was looking for!It look's as though it's easy to fit and it's interesting that Peugeot have used the same basic gear shift idea for many years and model's.You would think a shorter, precise shift the order of the day competing with the gear shift beauty of our Asian friend's!
I may have a crack at making one in the next day or so. Regard's Chuck.

I don't know how the 307 1.6 compares to the 2.0, but from what I read in an NZ review, the 1.6 doesn't feel that much slower in reality.

It is an engine that prefers to be above 3000 rpm though, and doesn't like really steep hills at revs below that (we have some really good quality hills in MEL - hills that most cars can only accelerate up in 1st gear!).

Cheers,

Justin
