Hi All,
Has anyone had any experience with faulty O2 sensors? I recently replaced the High Pressure Fuel pump on the 1.6 THP Engine and now it seems to have a fault in the post-Cat sensor. I believe that they are not indestructible and I have just clicked over 160,000 kms. Any assistance appreciated.

Hi All,
..... I have just clicked over 160,000 kms. Any assistance appreciated.

on a 2.0l 306 it's stated the O2 sensor should be replaced every 10yrs or 100,000kms - I can tell you the improvement in fuel economy and general responsiveness was significant given ours was 16yrs old and 130,000kms

You can test an oxygen sensor by meauring the voltage maximum on the signal outputs. There is also a heating circuit.

The sensor is exposed to an extreme environment, sometimes incorrect fuel or oil or water, and doesn't last forever. They have a maximum life of about 150,000 km, and often much less.
