Shouldn’t imagine there'd be to many of these floating around on NZ roads.
R5 Turbo II

Looks to be in half decent condition.
Asking 14K US
Pitty it’s left hand drive.

Hot damn, that looks like fun. I would say left hand drive would only add to it - lets face it, we dont drive french cars to blend into the crowd! And its more original. $14K US is a lot of dosh though....

It's a lot of money for a R5, but then it is very rare, and very fast, and only $23,000 Aus, plus shipping and import costs,

How much do they sell for in Aus ?

That's the mid engeined version, holy shit $14k US is a BARGIN!!!!! That's only NZ$38!!!!
Most of the ones I've found for sale around the world have been for about twice that much!

Awesome, Grp B rally cars, urrrmmmmm droooollll

"Urm, hello, Mr Bank Manager......"

You might be in luck Izza- $14k US actually works out at around $25,000 NZ not $38...

Other things to think about though is that has it been complianced- as it is less than 20 years old, this can run into a whole heap of problems so I am told....

Still wouldn't you love to rock up in that to a hill climb etc in that!!!

Awesome,

Ben

Whoops my brain must have been asleep, NZ dollar is 0.57 to the USD, was thinking of the UKP

She would certainly show the GT Starlet boy racers a thing or two about what a small capcity turbo engine really is!

As as for those arches!!!!!!

if only (dream)

There was one of these little terrors for sale at Alpine affair here in melbourne a few years ago. I loved it (couple of tradies were having a look at it too, to which they remarked 'Gees it's ugly' :D  )

Asking price was AUS$38,000....

I emailed the seller, it's unregistered at the mo, so It cant be road register until it's 20 years old (our silly new "safety" laws) but that will be in Jan next year!!!!!
Still needs to be complianced as it's LHD.

It's still for sale, hmmm maybe if a sell both my cars I could afford the front bumper?
Would be great for playing around in the Targa.

If it's still for sale Dec I might just buy it, and damn the consequences!
LOL

i think that that car is in nz at an auckland dealership for nz $30,000 theres an article in the latest new zealand classic car magazine.

renomans son!!!!!!!!! head_ban dance

Hey have a look at these directories for NZ cars - these are from the mags I bought back from NZ when I was there recently ..... saw some really old scruffy renaults, a R5 and a 21 and 25, but nothing else, I was only there a week, and so did not have the time to fully search.

The link below has the Renault Cars under "Renault" GENUINE VEHICLE IMPORTS enjoy

Look in the car search section for general cars and dealers, renault brings up some interesting stuff.

Oh and fellow renault dudes, if you look in the Japanese Clio V6 clubs events section thay must have been at a Euro Car day, http://www.webdesignwilly.com/cclv6-japon/index.html It is interesting to see a long row of just Clio V6's and note in the background the other french cars, well I can't say their brand name as they are unworthy to say in the light of the Clio V6's ..........

Maybe one day we will see Renault here in Australia put them on limited order, or some sort of limited import scheme, like the R32 Golf and VW, that would be nice to see...........

But I feel shades of LNC and their unresponsiveness in selling the cars here again, as in model ranges and what seems to be the lag in time from the more important euro markets, oh well we are at the ass end of the world waiting for the ship to arrive with some more stock on it.......... thats if renault france has anything to spare for this small market......... ;-)

Covert awesome links.

I didn't realsise the japs were fully into Renos, thought they just stuck to there Skylines and stuff.

Wonder if they trade R8Gs on V6 Clios ? hehe nah

Thoes Clios just look so f@rken sexy.

Love your work Covert

Covert,

You could always take up the challenge/offer of one of the VDA reps that was made at the Renault launch at the Melb motorshow in 2001. It was said that they would be willing to talk to someone who was serious about wanting to purchase a V6 Clio....

Could have been a way of gauging the level of interest to see if it was worthwhile importing them under the new small volume import rules........
