Just noticed Aldi advertising OBD2/EOBD Code Reader for $49.99. Says it reads and clears generic and manufacturer specific diagnostic trouble codes.
Has anyone had any experience of this? Will it work on my 407hdi or my wife's 308hdi?
It is available Sat Nov 3.

They are occasionally useful, but in no way a substitute for Diagbox.

They can read out the error code numbers logged, and can reset them. That is enough to check on your car's health, but probably not to repair it. You have to know the code's meaning. I keep one in the glove box.

There is no additional information, and no readings for the various sensor outputs.
 
I wouldn’t bother there is better options for less than 20 bucks and when using these they can induce esp abs faults won’t hurt anything but can be annoying for a little bit more a ds150e Delphi clone will do everything even code keys without the muck around with setup of diagbox
