Hi All,
After installing new drive shaft seals, should the 'plastic' outter ring that helps you insert the shafts without damaging the seals be removed?
The Haynes manual suggests that they should be.. but I just wanted to see what others think or have done.
My current seals are only 1 month old and leaking. 1/2 of me thinks it's due to poor installation, the other 1/2 of me thinks that the plastic rings have cut into the seal as these somewhat rotor with the shaft.
Also.. what process should I follow to ensure that THIS TIME they don't leak....
Thanks
Justin
p.s here is a pic of them.
