Has anyone else experienced substantial tyre noise from 205 60 15 Michelin green tyres ?

I find it very annoying when traversing anything but hotmix surface in a recent Peugeot Partner

could it be due to being a commercial tyre ?

has anybody found a quieter alternative ?

First, it could be a car issue, not a tyre issue. In case it's the latter:

I suggest that you draw up a short list of tyres that, for other reasons, you favour & then go to the Tyre Reviews site in the UK & check the published tyre tests on each tyre, looking for tests which test noise. (Be aware that you have two types of noise: air transmitted noise (often called "drive by" noise) & body structure transmitted noise.)

cheers! Peter

I recently fitted a set of 4 Michelin LTX Force 205/70/15 to our Honda CRV. Our use was for gravel, bitumen and farm use.
They are a very noisy tyre, almost like a wheel bearing is shot. Noticed the noise immediately on the way home from the tyre shop.
They are quite a chunky tyre pattern. Similar to your tyres ?

thanks folks correct tyre pressure ,
yes bob similar to yours,
however there is no road noise when on hotmix , which indicates tyres ?

What is the tire called ?
Energy savers for instance are normally noisier that say Primacy 4.

Not automatically. As another frogger discovered, tyre noise can be body structure transmitted & rougher surfaces can generate the micro rumbling that is then so transmitted.
