I would like to know if 405 16 valve engines have a problem with the above pulleys seizing on the camshaft.
The reason I ask is -- I have a car that had the belt replaced by a "Peugeot Specialist" the bill was a whopper and the invoice said the camshaft seals were not replaced as the pulleys would be damaged if the repairer tried to remove them.
I've fitted hundreds of cambelts and seals over my time in the trade, dating back to the earliest cars so fitted,this is a newy on me,what do the 16 valve experts think?
I can see there is bugger all room ,I have heard that camcover gaskets are made out of "The dead sea scrolls" if you can get them,maybe this bloke was short cutting?
