Following recent discussion, I have sourced M7 bolts and nuts in a suitable range to make up Grab Kits.

I am just waiting on availability of the special serrated/convex washers, and star washers, which I would add into the kit described here.......

M7 X 1.0 bolts, 8.8 grade, hex head, fully threaded, yellow zinc plated. Nuts also yellow zinc. Nyloc nuts are silver zinc.

My proposal (may be adjusted depending on feedback) is:
A 12 compartment transparent plastic box, measuring 310x200x48.
Bolts:
25pcs x 16mm long
15pcs x 20mm long
10pcs x 25mm long
10pcs x 30mm long
5pcs x 35mm long
5pcs x 40mm long
5pcs x 50mm long
Nuts:
60pcs Standard
15pcs Nyloc

That would be 150pcs
$95- (as I'm a hobby business I don't collect GST)
Plus postage.

If I can get 7mm small (14mm) and large (18mm) serrated/convex washers like the originals..... I would add in say 30 large and 20 small. If I can get suitable quality star washers I'd add say 50 of them.
Price adjusted accordingly.
That would make a 250pc kit
That would use the 12 compartments in the box.
I don't have a total weight yet...

I would also have top up bags of each item. Possibly @$10- each bag.
Bolts 16mm x 15pcs
20mm x 15pcs
25mm x 12pcs
30mm x 12pcs
35mm x 10pcs
40mm x 10pcs
50mm x 8 pcs
Nuts Standard x 50pcs
Nuts Nyloc x 30pcs

Washers to be advised, hopefully soon!

Lead time currently 1 week.
When I start.... lead time would be about 2 days, depending when I get to town to post.
I would consider sending several kits together, for distribution between neighbours, to reduce freight cost.

Preliminary feedback welcome, please.

Bob

Any suggestions on the relative quantities?
Should I consider some longer ones?

People will soon let you know. Longer bolts are quite rare unless they have a special function if you think about it (eg: regulator mounting bolts). It depends what people need for there specific restorations I guess. It's usually the smaller fasteners that are rusted/losts/damaged.

Sounds perfect for re-assembly time!
Many will need replacing, others missing to begin with.
Put me down for a pack too

5 x 0.8, 6 x 1.0 and 8 x 1.25 are available anywhere Shane.

Yes, 5 x 0.75 is a bit of a problem, but like you, I equipped myself with tap and die years ago, and have lots of donors cars waiting on the paddock.
Maybe a kit would be good..... I'll ask.

Ok, I'll go ahead with the first batch of kits as specified in the first post here.

Unfortunately the conical knurled washers are VERY rare in M7 in Aus.
I've put out a couple of OS enquires, but it could take a while.

So, I'm going ahead with the kits without washers. When I find a source of the washers I'll do top up bags to add into the kits.

The weight looks like being about 1.3kg.

It'll take a week to get it together.....
Standby.

Yer a good bloke Bob. I didn't believe half of what everyone else says about you! :)

Seriously, a great initiative, and thanks for going ahead with it. Anything that helps us Loonies keep those funny frogs on the road is a Good Thing.

Cheers, Pottsy.
