Hi all

I ran over a small but very chunky piece of machinery on the Hume Highway (looked like some kind of fan unit) last Thursday, which unfortunately I couldn't avoid without a dangerous swerve

Started getting horrible vibrations straight after. Took the car into a mechanic en route to check out and he told me I had stuffed both rims on the drivers side - to be honest it didn't surprise me as it was a hell of a bump! He swapped the front wheel to the rear passenger side and said we were safe to continue our Easter trip but would still get vibrations although not as bad - which was true. They feel worse at low speed than at high.

We are now safely back in Melbourne but are after a full replacement set of rims and tyres. We had been wanting to change the jiggly 18" rims with 40 profile 'rubber band' tyres (that were on the car when purchased) to 16's for increased comfort, so this has forced our hand!

Our car is a 2010 Peugeot 308 XSE HDi Touring and in excellent condition otherwise!

Does anyone have any good (undamaged!) secondhand rims for sale which would be suitable (not 307 wheels please) or recommendations for 16" wheels and tyres? Our current 18's have been harsh over bumps and noisy at freeway speeds, would like to improve both of these issues

Do wheels from other any Peugeot models fit a 308?

Cheers!
Simon

There is a 308 on Facebook marketplace around Melbourne that has 16”s that he is wrecking I’m sure it would be a case of beer thing if you swapped them over to keep his mobile
