l’m looking for an line shop to buy 203 parts in Australia...

l need…
Steering Column Coupling (does the 403 404 or 504 fit???)

oil leak is coming from the Front Crankshaft Oil Seal…
can anyone help, l’m in Dorrigo NSW...
Pete...

Coupling same as 404 505 etc. buy at EAI, Melbourne or Sydney. No oil seal, just a reverse thread slinger. I may have a new timing cover which would probably fix the problem, I'll take a look tomorrow.

thanks Graham,
l will email ETA for the part, & yes a new timing cover would be great...

if EA

hi Peter, lovely 203,
if EAI dont have the coupling try Lewein Partridge in Bris
i have a front cover if Graham does not ,
check the crank case breather is not blocked, creating pressure forcing oil out
when fitting replace gasket and put elect tape around crank to help centre the cover tighten bolts ,remove tape

thanks alpine for your help, if Graham doesn't have a cover l will get back to you, thanks again pete...
yes it is a nice 203, it just needs a few things fixed...

Make sure that you get the correct timing chain cover. Being an early car you won't have a chain tensioner adjustment hole in the cover. I have a centering bush which I turned up to make sure the slinger is centralized. PM me if you want it.

Flector, part no 4040.04 is just a disc with five holes as far as I recall; no bushing?
ie - couldn’t any workable rubber do the job?
i suggested the poly stuff used in a Treg hitch ...
edit - I see bushes.
Teflon?

These are available from a raft of European suppliers. For example, Melun retro Passion have them for Euro 7.90. Just Google Flector de Direction.

If they don't even stock these then it is time to abandon EAI, and buy everything from OS.
l email EAI about a steering column coupling for a 1951 203, maybe l should have said for a 203 to 504 coupling.
l found a steering column coupling & it will be the post tomorrow from PugWreck Vic...

Yes, ask for 504 coupling, also fits 505 and I think Renault 12.
