Little Silver 205GTI

You put the A/C belt the wrong way around the idler/tensioner. The lack of grooves in the idler should be a hint which way the belt goes around it.

ha, heck yes thanks schlitz good pickup... how did I miss that!?... looks like I may have been a bit tired last night

After a stringent review process I decided to revert back to the more “conventional” method of tensioning the AC belt [emoji4][emoji106]

Some other new parts that went in the other day

Lots more little items ticked off including the door lock & latch adventure. Filled with incorrect parts, faulty parts, bent and bodged parts, missing parts.

Like this door handle link rod bent enough that it fouled the mechanism

Easy fix

But I only found that one as I had to pull a latch mechanism out as two other link rods were on backward and wouldn’t function. Like the door exterior lock which I found didn’t work because the plastic arm wasn’t there and when I went to fit one I couldn’t because the rod it connected to was on backward and badly bent. So many little things

Even found and fitted lock gaskets!

End result is all locks and latches are working very nicely. And original central locking fixed on drivers door and tailgate, just need to repair wiring on passenger door and that will be sorted also.

How do cars get so badly stuffed with?!?!

Moving out of the shed under its own power after more than six years of neglect

Nice work! So many people just don't have the patience to repair a car in such detail.

Thanks Bluey! It’s easy to underestimate what’s involved. I’ve done heaps and there’s still quite a bit for the new owner to do. Now I’m excited to get onto my next car in the queue [emoji106]

Update from Kosta, little silver is being prepped for paint.
How good is that?!

I reckon the pepperpots look great on little silver
