Latitude Hints, Tips and Problems

Update on my car!

It has been since 18th June my car diagnosed with an Tranny O-ring leak in Motor Group Parramatta. First they said that the part is not in stock and should be coming from Melbourne which takes 2 days. I went back to them after 2 days and was told that the part is not here yet, We'll contact you once it is here. After a week I heard nothing so called them and they said the part has not been in Melbourne so it's been ordered from France!! and takes 6 weeks to arrive! 2 days ago I called Renault customer care again and ask them to take things serious before I go insane. It worked and received a call from repair shop that the O-ring has arrived but they are waiting for transmission fluid!!! which is coming from France!!!
I told them that any fluid that meets manufacturer's specs can be used but they said Renault insisted to have their own fluid!!
So frustrating. My car is off the road for 20 days and still waiting.

Moral of the story:
Never Ever Renault Again!
Why didn't you take your car to Dave Collier?
You were in Parramatta anyway? Don't write off your car due to incompetent dealership service people.

Turn the volume knob down until you see "00" volume. It is then off.

well, there you go, I thought it was just me. The VOL knob does push like one would expect, but there is no on/off click, just one more latitude electronics foible....

I don't recall a radio in any other car I've had having this behaviour, even back in the old valve days I'm sure it was on/off push the volume knob.

Hi All,

Just a jump start to this thread after a while.

my car needs regular logbook service and I think the $900 that the dealer asking is too much. (36000km on the car)
Brake fluid and coolant replacement are needed.
Any recommendation for a service center in Sydney?
Do you think if it is OK to take it to a local service centre?
What coolant/brake fluid you reccommand?

Thanks,

Hi all,
Recently acquired 2015 Latitude Privilege Diesel terrific cruiser especially for the price. Does anyone know how to reset tyre pressure monitor? It's currently set at super high pressures and once the tyres were reduced to 32 psi the car thinks it has 4 flat tyres.
Following general Renault procedure found online doesn't work on my car, any other way of doing it?

Specialist Renault service centre in Sydney ( not dealer) couldn't do it.

That cost rather depends on which service is being done..... I'd be asking the dealer about the cost and the service level before going somewhere else.

Possibly works like this: when you can find a suitable image on screen after pressing appropriate buttons, pressing and holding the button might/should reset the TPMS to the new pressures. A little bit of scrolling and button pushing resets our 2017 Megane's tyre pressures. P.S: what pressures are listed on the door panel?

Thanks we'll give that a shot. I don't have the car with me but I think 36psi or higher. Steering kickback pretty dramatic with those pressures but high mileage car, probably worn rack too.

G'day,

interesting couple of minutes on the way to Melbourne Christmas day, Mr TomTom shut itself down, entertainment as well. It was off line for a good couple of minutes, when it rebooted, we found that the constant five minutes fast on the clock was fixed and when the entertainment is restarted the volume is now the same as what it was when you last left it - alas, it hasn't fixed the shrunken rear view camera image, no map updates either, you can't win 'em all.

Real test for the clock will be when we move back to EST - it usually indicates we'll arrive somewhere before we leave.... :)

The system connects itself to SWMBO 'phone, 'spose that's where the data was extracted via.

Been a while since someone posted...
2012 Renault Latitude - 170k
The "check injector system" light lit up a few days ago. Still runs not driving it.
I'm planning on taking it to a mechanic to quote me on the repairs.
My options are:
Fix it (but what is the cost)
Take it to the wreckers, car doesn't deserve it, been a bloody great car.

Question is: Any hint at what the wreckers would pay?

Cheers
Sean

You won't get rich selling a car for recycling. French Connection in Melbourne, Airport West, buys Renaults for dismantling. They regularly contribute here.

If you have the error codes, likely someone here knows what to do.

My MY2013 3.5L V6’s power steering is leaking; can anyone advise what fluid to top up with so I can drive to get it repaired? (I’ve googled my heart out trying to find out, rung Renault Australia, dealers, mechanics etc - might be losing my mind, but can only find conflicting information, help!)

Never looked at what's in the Latitude PS reservoir, but my 'go to' for the past few decades for topping up PS has been 'Nulon Power Steering Stop Leak & Conditioner'.... However, it's 'her' car and it gets serviced by Eason's in Ballarat, NOT dealers or me.... :)
