Apparently Ken Block passed away 2/01/23,snowmobile accident.
You could say that he lived on the edge, Ken doing what he did best
Probably was high marking in the snow, which is just about the only way I can think of a snowmobile falling on you. Super risky activity, it kills several people in Western Canada every winter.
On an extremely steep mountain, the snowmobile riders race up one at a time at the top speed and get as high in the powder snow as possible. When reaching the high point and upward momentum is no longer possible, the machine falls downwards (often it's a 70 degree slope at that point). The snowmobiles have paddles on their tracks, usually, which makes forward progress in deep powder snow possible. The highest "mark" wins. Sadly, too many lose their lives or are injured doing this, sometimes in avalanches they trigger. What is high marking in the snow?
