A while back some may remember my problems with 2nd gear selection in an ex auto 20ts. I have now replaced the remote lever with another - the old one had a small amount of vertical slop.
Things are now much better.
It still feels a bit "notchy" and I was wondering as to whether I had the lever in just the right spot. Considering the above perhaps location location is pretty important.
I need someone with an original 5s 20 to measure the distances from the gear knob, say the centre point of 3/4, to say the face of the AC fan knob and to the front inside of both of the door armrests. With the lever in its neutral rest position and again with it in gear 1st or 3rd would be probably good. If they can also manage 2nd or 4th to the fan knob face as well I will be able to be sure that my setup is compatable with theirs.
Unless of course someone has an overlay showing the relevance of the auto and manual remote mounting points to each other !! Too easy !!
