GTI6 timing belt kits Which to buy?

GTI6 timing belt kits Which to buy? Car is a 1999 GTI6.... assume the motor designation is (XU10J4R)
Should I buy Gates, Dayco, Superspares, or go for the Bosch kit with the water pump included. $150 vs $240 for the latter. Opinions?
 
XU10J4RS, may not be as many kits available for this, fitted only to GTi6 and Xsara VTS. Also, special spring loaded tensioner.
 
Just make sure its the right belt for your car. I think there was a 136 or 137 tooth belt.
 
Get the water pump, tensioners and belt kit. You'll need to give them a VIN to ensure the correct parts. There's nothing worse than a water pump that leaks after fitting a new belt.

Buy Dayco. I have been using this brand in my 2 ES V6 Engines for years now with good results and peace of mind.

Since yours is phase II, it has 2 different timing belts and timing tensioners. One belt is 136 teeth (found mostly in phase 1) while the 2nd belt is 137 teeth. I would suggest you buy the 136 teeth timing belt and its own tensioner.

Below is the 136 teeth Timing belt Dayco part numbers:

1. Timing belt kit with water pump(136 teeth): Dayco KTBWP1651 (timing belt, timing idler, timing tensioner & water pump).

1a. Timing belt:. Dayco 94714 (136 teeth).
1b. Timing idler:. Dayco ATB2025-S.
1c. Timing tensioner: DaycoATB2038-S.
1d. Water pump: Dayco DP031-S.

Visit eBay UK and search for the complete timing kit with water pump (Dayco KTBWP1651). They are very much available there.

2. I also know part number for 137 teeth timing belt kit without water pump (Dayco KTB576) which can also be used in XU10J4RS Engine, but I don't have the part number with water pump (unless you want to source water pump separately). The breakdown is as follows:

2a. Timing belt: Dayco 94909 (137 teeth).
2b. Timing idler/roller: Dayco ATB2025-S.
2c. Timing tensioner: Dayco ATB2526-S.

Note that XU10J4R Engine uses same timing kit & water pump (KTB165 or KTBWP1651) with XU10J4RS.
