hi guys,i'am hoping to find GTI twin head lights and driving lights in Australia any help i will be greatful

Could try Martin Bray from Clarendon in S.Aust. We got a part off him a few months ago which I am sure was for a GTi. Don't know how much he has got left but he did tell me that the car was a driver & only had around 40 - 50 k klms when it was broken.

do you mean by 'twin optic' the 2 seperate lights, that look the same as other CX headlights as fitted to CXturbo's or standard CX lights with the additional globe that fits into it's own 'optical' area inside the light (ie: driving lights inside the normal lights...).
For the one's fitted to the turbo, UK is you only bet (or maybe france). There is probably only 3or4 CXturbos in Australia (and my old man recently broke the headlight in his, he wasn't impressed...). The other duel optic type I think is fitted to early CX2200's... I'd have a look around some french car wreckers... They appear to be fitted at random to CX's. Who knows, you may get lucky...

The conversion types I got with a car I imported a while ago but when you see them in the flesh they are a pretty cheap-jack affair & definitely not worth the money.
If you have any association with the Citroen Car Club of Queensland I would suggest you contact them as one of their fellows Ian Steel had a brand new set of GTi lights a few years ago that he had come by somehow & was talking about experimenting fitting them to a CX 2400 Pallas & trying to get them to operate like DS lights by turning with the steering. I also tried walking on water about the same time & I think I might succeed before he does.

hmmm, interesting trying to get the later lights into an early car, you see, they aren't called 'top mount' lights for no reason.....
The lights in the old mans car, look from a distance identical to standard CX lights. However if you look up close they have a very different patern in the glass and two totaly seperate lights behind the glass. The inside one is the spots, the outside the normal high/low beam light. I think in the UK these are called 'duel optic'. In australia of course duel optic are 'bottom mount, single lense with a extra 'V' shaped reflector in the main light with the high beam seperate globe. Ok,if you've never seen them my description will make no sense, a picture speaks a 1000 words I suppose.
The lights in the old mans car are much better than my standard lights. Though I've heard people in the UK muttering that the original lights as fitted to early series I CX's were the best, so who knows?? It may come down to setting them up properly.
If they are the correct lights though, I'll ask my father if he's interested (depends on price I suppose, and wether he's butchered them to try and fit to the earlier car).

I just thought I might add, I don't have any of these 'duel optic' headlights for sale, and I don't know where they are available from. But if anyone knows where the can be obtained from (espicialy a front left) please let me know.
