Anyone had any Contact (have used, use or heard good/bad reports about them) with the Green Cotton Filter Induction kits for the 405 Mi16. I am just trying to find out which would be best for it. and if it would be cheaper to buy in Oz, or buy it direct from the UK..

Any comments on other pod style induction kit which suit the Mi16, would be greatly appreciated as well..

Thanks in Advance

Mitch

From an overseas forum, The green cotton filter is the same design as a K & N filter. Apparently, the engineer who design the K & N filter left K & N and decided to open his own called green cotton filter.

But don't quote me on it though wink

Hi Mitch,

Green filters are used on the 206 WRC car so they have to stand the test of time. I personally use and stock pipercross i can get one for you car $288.

Regards Nick Watson

I thought the replacement K&N filter element was the best value for an Mi16. It will last you a lifetime.

I saw the pipercross pod on www.ecosse-peugeot.co.uk... 60 pound plus VAT which took it to 70.50 pound.. i was looking at that one too.. On the green website, it says that you can clean the filiment, therefore increasing the life span of the actually filter.., can this be done with other brands, or do you just buy a recharge kit.. new filiment..
I'll keep in mind what has been said..

Nick, i've had a look at your website, when will it be fully operational, and also what will you be selling in the shop... i guess i mean parts, kits, etc etc

cheers, anymore info would be great so if someone else has anything t say i'd be happy to hear it..

Thanks again.

Mitch

finer filters, rush, k&n...there are so many.....but at the end of the day they are all very close performance wise....and if u do not service it regularly (ie wash and reoil) the flow capability of these filter will quickly fall below the flow capacity of a STOCK paper style job.....

So whichever brand u choose....i recomend REGULAR cleaning to keep up the airflow performance and that sweet sweet sound...

cheers

ps...i try and clean mine every month or so....i remeber...this customer came in to buy a replacement filter (original) and he started to complain how his K&N was crap....after a few questions i found out that the filter was a GIFT and hed had it on the car close to 2 years...and had never ever cleaned it during that period....SAD but true...

Hi Mitch,

Yes you should buy one that comes with a foam filter oil. I know pipercross comes with it and i'm guessing green would have one too. You should clean whenever you would replace a normal filter otherwise it will affect the performance of the filter. Hope this helps.

Nick

You can also get Green Cotton at www.autospeed.com

I've also heard that Green Cotton is the same as K&N, just that's it's green.

If you're interested as to what it looks like, I found the installation instructions on the Green Cotton website which gives you a good idea as to how effective it would be.

Thanks guys, i'll keep my mind open for the moment..

Yeah i saw the installation instructions on their website as well.. so i will see what happens a little bit down the track..

Hey Mitch,

I ended up sticking a Jetex Response filter in my Mi16. All up, converted to $AUS including postage, was something like $95 for me. You might want to consider this option. Check out http://www.jetex.co.uk

Cheers

Hi Nick,

That's a great price, but i'm thinking of putting a pod style filter onto mine, not just replace the panel.

But it's always good to know..

Cheers...
