I have to thank, and blame, @Russell Hall for the hours I've spent since his Gagarin Djet post.
I just love cutaway drawings and this Djet 1962/63 Gordini Double Shaft engine drawing is a beauty.
Pic is taken from Club René Bonnet Matra Sports-Djet website so may be subject to copyright considering the RBMS on the sump.
In the 1962 24 Hours of Le Mans the Djet car #46 with the 996cc Gordini double shaft motor lost 4th gear at 7:30am and spent the next 8 hours doing 8000rpm in third gear down Les Hunaudières (Mulsanne straight) to still finish with an average speed of 142 km/h, awesome stuff......
