FYI: 307CC Window Regulator Motor

As an FYI to anyone facing a failed 307CC window regulator motor (left 9221CP, right 9222CN, I believe): these motors are very specific to the 307CC. Parts that fit, both mechanically and electrically (plugs), won't work unless the microcontroller on the motor control board is exactly the right model/programming.

I had my 2007 window regulators fail both sides (going by the hackery in the door, these had been replaced at least twice before), followed a few months later by the RHS (driver's) motor going up in smoke. I suspect the motor failed due to the regulator cabling being too tight, in turn due to the mechanical clutch mechanism in the replacement regulator mechanism being a stupid design.

Anyway, replacing the motor was a bit of a nightmare, and had at least three wreckers completely stumped. I ended up with two motors from 307s but whilst they were physically identical - even the same control board layout/etc - they would not work with the driver's door controls (the centre mounted "all windows" control did work, so it was just a software problem; also the roof refused to operate with the incorrect controller). I expect the software on the motor controller is specific to the car model. (sheesh) The barcoded label on the control board case appears to be the important bit, for my vehicle these numbers are (RHS):

My 307CC narrowly avoided being scrapped (unregisterable) due to this stupid design, fortunately I was able to locate the exact matching part from a wrecker in Lithuania (I'm in Sydney, Australia). $65 and registered for another year.

Hi , I'm new here and just bought a 2010 207cc Peugeot and the left window just fell in so I took off the inner door to have a look and the cables were rusted and all sprung out so now after only one week owning the 207 I have to find and replace the whole regulator assembly and they say it's best to change the window reg motor at the same time. Bloody awful design and very tricky DIY. Any help appreciated, advice, on where to buy?, mechanics to install? I'm at Tweed Heads / Coolangatta next to the Gold Coast. Cheers, Shane

Unfortunately not many countries are sending parcels to Australia anymore , I got 1 from Spain shipped pretty quick I took it to the local (specialist in overseas cars ) mechanic he burnt out the motor and I just noticed that he’s also peeled the stickers of the left hand motor and jammed the window up that he supposedly fixed 🤬 and said that I needed to find the right hand replacement regulator motor myself that he stuffed because he doesn’t know where to get it lol, so now also have to fix that 1 to but I Will never take it back to him and he’s the only 1 that deals in foreign cars so stuck trying to do it myself .so any tips would be helpful.Thanks in advance it’s my Daughter first car and it’s costing a fortune and still not fixed P.s told her to get a Commy lol she didn’t listen .Thanks
 
You might need to seek out another mechanic unless you or a friend have enough mechanical aptitude to fix this. What part of NSW are you? Someone may be able to make a suggestion.

Finding the correct parts using the VIN would be a good start as there are variations. It seems to depend on LHD vs RHD and whether the mirrors are manual or electric folding.

Do you have the original parts?

Are the cables rusted or damaged? When they break or go slack people end up wrapping them around the cable drum by continuing to press the window controls. If the drum is damaged, it can sometimes be cleaned up and reused, but many repair kits come with a new drum.

Have any of the plastic guides that run up and down the tracks broken? Sometimes, all you need is a repair kit or just one of the clips. I'm not sure about these guide clips, but they could be shared with another model and available as an aftermarket repair kit.

The motors can sometime stop working temporarily if they are overheated or overloaded. The window regulator will be an anti-pinch design and that can need to be reset if it moves in stops and starts. The control for that is part of the motor unit.

Here is the parts diagram that likely applies and might help you identify exactly what parts you need. It looks like the motor and window regulator are sold as separate items. Often you get them together, but in this case it appears not. The E: prefix items are alternative parts sold via Peugeot and usually a less costly option than the original Peugeot part.

Quite often a wrecker will quote the PSA production reference number that is printed on a part and this can be different to the listed part number from the catalogue. I'm not saying these are the correct items for your car, but for the two part#s quoted in this thread ...
9221CP may be marked as 9681589280
9222CN may be marked as 9681589180
Note the very similar 9221 and 9222 part numbers, which might easily trip you up if you are not careful.

NFP means the part is no longer supplied by Peugeot.

Note the very similar 9221 and 9222 part numbers, which might easily trip you up if you are not careful.

I do have the original parts and for future reference the citreon c4 motor is a Brose 965493-100 controller unit for the left hand side which is our drivers side, that matches ours the first pic is out of our car the second is the replacement we got and it works just now the regulator is stuffed on both sides by the mechanic we took it to .We live in Goulburn and Eric Brown is supposed to specialise in Peugeot repairs, it too ages to find the part we rang every wrecker in Australia .
