I have followed Le Mans racing since the Ford GT40 days of 1966 onwards.
I haven't been able to get the Le Mans track on my racing sim setup until now, with the recently released "Le Mans Ultimate".
What a blast! Very realistic track and scenery, as well as the cars and teams. The basic version has all the cars and liveries from the 2023 race, but also has all the other tracks on the WEC (World Endurance Championship) circuit. Good value.

Here's a sample, one of my first practice laps - this is just the famous Mulsanne Straight - I couldn't wait to have a go. I've chosen to drive the Iron Dames team Porsche. Why not, I drive like a girl! Just a sample - enjoy.

Cheers.

That seems to be the current shortened straight with the two chicanes, can you get a version with the full length of the original, legendary, Mulsanne straight ?

Yes, it is optional - and yes, I have since tried it, as you say - legendary. Unfortunately it doesn't have the 1960s cars, so I can't drive it in a GT40.🙂
When I remember (or look up) how to record it properly, I'll put up a full lap.
In a 2023 Toyota hypercar, I was sitting on just over 330 km/hr for most of the old Mulsanne.
The game also has the old and new (with chicanes) Monza, but not the really old with the banking.

OK, here we go. A full lap of the old Le Mans track with no chicanes on Mulsanne straight. Otherwise it is much the same as raced on last weekend at the 2025 24 hour.

It's pretty scrappy, I am not familiar enough with the track to go hard, especially the last 30% of the lap. This 2023 Toyota hypercar has magic brakes, so that helps.
This is probably better fun than it looks, I get tired playing it after a while, and it can get mentally exhausting if you really start trying.

Well I certainly don't have one of the hydraulic motion seats in my setup, but I do have a home-made electric adjustable one!
My setup (as described in detail previously somewhere) is made up of partly off-the-shelf frames and some home made stuff. The seat is from a V8 Commodore - I removed all the computerish bits, just leaving the 4 electric motors, then wired them up into a little console with rocker switches, as per photo. Although it's a bit of a toy, the adjustable seat is actually pretty handy for different drivers.
The steering wheel and pedals come as a kit, mine are mid-range price/quality. I'm running off a mid-range gaming PC I bought for the purpose. The monitor is 27", sufficient for my purposes, but I'm hoping one day the missus might go on holiday and I can put this rig in our lounge room with the 55" TV. At the moment I am consigned to the side of a small bedroom. :(

you need THREE screens, remember Cinerama..... :) I suppose these days they use those fancy goggles...

I think one of these would do me:

I made the monitor frame (the purple bit) to support 3 screens if I wanted them, also the game software generally does support 3 screens. For me, I'm limited by space so I've kept the setup narrow, note where I've mounted the keyboard, usually they go to the side - a bit of a reach but only used to open the program, then I have a mouse pad next to the wheel.
The other point, talking of reaction, is that the steering wheel is a "force feedback" type, it has a powerful internal motor which is controlled by the program. You feel the wheel vibrate on ripple strips, and you certainly feel it if you drop a wheel off the track, and other situations. In fact, I have the feedback set to 50% because it was hurting my arms a bit. Maybe that's an indication of my driving? 😂

You need one of these, Bob. 😀

about a decade or two ago my brother and a few of his mates used to have racing weekends - the girlz would bugger off somewhere to drink champagne and attack their credit cards, the boyz had one of our houses to ourselves. gotta admit the games we played were not serious, pure silly stuff - one game we had was where the cars were all fitted with "hornball", which propelled a one metre steel soccer ball out of your car into the car in front like a cannonball. the damage control was surprisingly accurate, you got extra points if you didn't put your seatbelt on - and if you were catapulted out of the car onto the track and got run over (not nice) the driver of the car that splattered you got extra points too. we took turns on feeding the masses (BIG box of cheerios cooked up in a big pot, served with lashes of tomato sauce and fresh beers). at the end of the weekend we all had sore mouths from laughing our heads off all weekend. happy days...

Ah yes. There was some laughter and gnashing of teeth last Christmas when Path of Exile 2 (early access costing $46) was gifted.... then a new msi curved screen was purchased to match the game frame rate.....then a new video card was needed to run the new screen at the higher resolution. I think the gifted game ended up costing hundred$$$ of hardware (for a game that will free to play after the official release date). 🤣🤣🤣
*also a new cooling fan was purchased because one of the LAN computers started overheating and shutting down.
