So my window switch has been playing up a bit lately. The left side mirror no longer works, nor does the switch light up when I turn my head lights on.

I tried removing and unplugging it, before testing the left side mirror again. It worked, but as soon as I tested the right side mirror, the left side mirror refused to move. This happened every time I unplugged and re-plugged.

Any thoughts? Might it just be the contacts? I don’t have any WD-40 on me, so I can’t really test those at the moment.

Please do not use wd40 for anything but rusty nuts, its properties are not friendly to anything electrical.
Get a can of Contact Cleaner lubricant spray from Altronics (or similar at Jaycar)

Most likely the fault is fatigued/broken wires on the flexible joint where they exit the A pillar.

Beware, there are a few different versions of window/mirror switches.
