It is official, Kimi is retiring at end of 2021.

Rumours
Bottas will move to take Kimis place and Russell will move to Merc. Merc have already made a decision on drivers, but it has not been announced yet. In recent interview Bottas and Russell intimated that the Merc driver decision had been made, but they had nothing to tell as yet. Now that Kimi has made his announcement, lets see if this happens...

Such a great character, I'm going to miss him.

Kimi is his own man to the end. He announced his own retirement via Twitter, rather than the normal Team announcements. His team respected this and made their announcement after Kimi's announcement.

Interestingly his announcement acquired million likes and 50,000 comments in under 24 hours.

and Albon to Williams. He gets another shot at F1 after sitting out 2021.

There’s talk that young Melburnian Oscar Piasti is in the running for a drive with Alfa Romeo next year alongside Bottas. Giovinazzi seems to be on the outer with his team and the seat up for grabs.

Kimi's team mate is without a contract for 2022 and is rumoured to be replaced by Guanyu Zhoun. Apparently he potentially brings a sack load of sponsor money with him.

Kubica is rumoured to be leaveing the test driver position at Alfa.

Vacant driver spots are starting to get bit thin on the ground for Antonio Giovinazzi for next year if he is indeed leaving Alfa.
