Alonso was in a traffic incident with a car at a roundabout in Switzerland whilst cycling. He was taken to hospital. He had a jaw fracture which has been operated and he will remain in hospital for 48 hours.

Why would someone like F. Alonso be participating in such a dangerous sport as cycling? 
I hope his injuries are relatively minor, and he is soon back on the track.

Lots of motor sport participants use cycling for fitness.
I use my bicycle instead of my car to do short journeys, more car drivers should do the same. Australia would probably be a bit more healthier and we would most likely have less angst between drivers and riders.
