Bit late posting the results this time, but stuff happens.

Qualifying results

1/ Hamilton - Hamilton was within a whisker of failing to progress beyond Q2. He has a fast lap disallowed due to exceeding track limits. Vettel crashed heavily bringing out red flags. Hamilton got his time in, which was good enough for 4th place with with less than 2 seconds to spare in Q2.

3/ Hamilton - was penalized 2 x 5 seconds for performing two practice starts in a place not permitted.
4/ Perez
5/ Ricciardo - received a 5 second penalty. He returned to the track after running wide without negotiating the required bollards after he ran wide.

19/ Sainz - DNF - lap 1 crash, went wide after the first corner and whilst trying to negotiate the bollards at high speed, ripped out his front suspension on the armco.

20/ Stroll - DNF - Lap 1 crash, Stroll was nudged by Leclerc resulting in an off in the fourth corner.

Hamilton was awarded the 2 x 5 second penalties as well as 2 penalty points for each offence. The officials however reviewed the radio conversation between Hamilton and his pit. He had asked his crew if it was ok to do a practice start at that location and was told it was. On review the team was awarded 20,000 Euro fine and Hamilton got his points back. He currently has 8 penalty points so he avoided the missing out a race due to too many penalty points. If a driver reaches 12 penalty points in a year, they miss a race.

Interesting Leclerc also performed a practice start 3 weeks earlier in an area he was not permitted to perform them, but escaped punishment, or was it escaped detection?
