The work has begun there is lots to do and good second hand panels to seek. I managed to find a roof without sun roof and a reasonable roof rail and still need a boot and passenger doors front and back. Please let me know if you have any parts. My new steering wheel has finally arrived More to come

Dspecial resto

A few more pics the engine is ready to go back with new clutch kit new timing chain new recon head new alternator new starter motor, new water pump and cylinder compression tested between 160 and 165psi so no rebuild. brake calipers rebuild including hand brake system. Suspension cylinders fitted with new rubber and Teflon kits.
The roof rail above the front windscreen is rusted pretty bad and this weekend the roof will come of possibly revealing more nasties
the lower section of the chassis is basically rust free. Luckily the harnesses is acceptable.

That roof rail looks truly horrible.

I was interested in the shelf on the back wall to see what you had stocked up there, but it is out of focus... Always interesting to see what folk keep on their shelves..

Good luck with the steelwork. Engine etc look just lovely.

1975 DS special restoration

A bit more work done on the weekend
the alternator fitted is a 75Amp with internal regulator I only use this model in my restorations and buy them from citroworld. Installation is simple only 12 Volt supply and light to dash light wires are required you can then tie up the remainig 6 wires from the old external regulator and Voila Done!!

And a few more
The spheres diaghrams are new and once in this will complete the hydraulic circuit.
Taking a chance with the steering rack, just tidied up and refit it wasn’t leaking prior restoration and if it does then bugger

Le Parisian,
I feel sorry for that little Solex [34mm ?] having to cope with everything.:wink2:

Oh, do everyone out here a favour and reposition that fuel filter to the tank side of the fuel pump. Suction not pressure.

Agreed not happy using the small Solex carburettor, perhaps if you have a spare Webber kit let me know?? I temporarily fitted the carby with the filter in that position as per previous owner did to close the fuel circuit; the tank is being worked on and a new filter will need to be purchased and then I will consider fitting it to the tank side also thinking about fitting an electric pump. You get 10 points for good observation
Anything else wrong???
