Can anyone advise the best place (reputable dealer that works correctly) to purchase the Diagbox software. Also advise if will read all fault codes on my 2014 Peugeot 208 GTi. Currently costing me a fortune to have mechanics read and clear errors.

I assume if comes with software key and cable for connection.

Cheers

I bought mine (software and the interface lead/plug) about 7 years ago on eBay, so can't help you on the latest info. However, I have seen recent posts here on AF and also the UK Peugeot forum, so do a search is the best bet until someone else with more recent experience chimes in.
I can say that I remember the software was awkward to load up and to operate it was slow, clunky and frustating. It was not a quick plug in and check/clear codes etc. For that a OBD reader is the go, I just don't know which one is all that effective on PSA cars. I have a BlueDriver for my wife's Jeep, am trying to see if it'll work on Peugeots. That is certainly quicker and easier to operate than Diagbox (on the Jeep though). But if you want as per factory ability to read all codes and change settings, live data etc AFAIK Diagbox is the only thing for PSA cars.

Don't forget an ordinary $60 cheapie OBD2 reader can read code values and reset them. You won't get a sensible interpretation (AF can do that), or sensor readings.

I have purchased a cheap OBD2 reader, which only reads engine management system. Unfortunately, what I require is a reader for brakes and suspension.

Many thanks for the responses guys. Love the sense of community :)

My diagbox setup goes back many years (bought in 2015), but I only recently updated to a new (to me) laptop and reloaded the software.

The psa-diag.fr website has a downloadable Windows VMWare Virtual Machine with diagbox 9.129 that worked first time with my existing cable. One thing to be aware of - the virtual windows version it runs under is in French, which seems appropriate for a Peugeot. You can choose the language for diagbox though.

A subject close to this was addressed on aussiefrogs not long ago (I think).

I've been trying to fire up my Diagbox on the newly acquired 2008 E-HDi only to find it's not talking to the car. Well, it is, but global test is greyed out. I remember now I had to go online with that Win XP laptop as I really needed to download software for a Range Rover a few years ago, and I think Diagbox got talking to the PSA server and so it's been blocked. Now to find those Diagbox software CDs and start again...

My laptop is online, but the diagbox Virtual Machine isn't. Seems to work well and was a LOT quicker than installing from CDs.
Yes, I think I have to try to find a better way with Diagbox. I have the WinXP laptop but also a used Win7 (or10?) laptop I bought to run ISTA+, a BMW diagnostics software. Can't remember why I couldn't use the Win XP laptop - it had to be 64-bit instead of 32? The WinXP Diagbox was a pain to load initially and then wasn't very quick when it was working 'well'. The ISTA+ (clone) experience was far better, easier. Even the old GM Tech II was a simpler, quicker diagnostic process. Oh well, it is what it is...

Have you considered a scan tool with Peugeot software only? I use the Foxwell NT530 using the Peugeot only software as most multiuse scanners miss out on some functions.

There are other brands than use vehicle specific software which in my experience is the way to go, of course some of the scan tools can have additional software installed for other vehicles.

the later pirated versions come on a VM ... so you should be able to run them on anything. its as close to "plug and play" as you can get :)

I have 3 diagnoses, but I would recommend you buy ThinkDiag or ThinkDiag 2 instead. I have the ThinkDiag 2 and it works perfectly well and could access or do everything I do with Diagbox on Peugeot cars from 2004 and above. Only downside is you to renew subscription to have the professional features you get from Diagbox/PP2000. It saves you headache of Diagbox installation, laptop battery headache, etc. I now only use Diagbox/PP2000 when diagnosing older Peugeots like 406, 206, T5 307, etc.

I purchased PP2000 last year from an online supplier which supplied the necessary OBD2 plug, leads, hardware and CD with software, and installed it on an old laptop with Windows 7 which will support a Virtual Windows XP to run the software. It was a major effort to overcome bugs and get it to run, with an amazing amount of help available online, but needing hours of research time to finally get there. Even now it will crash if I have my charge lead inserted so I have to make sure the laptop battery is fully charged and make sure it does not run flat while diagnosing, or especially, while making changes.
I persevered because I wanted to diagnose issues with a 2002 406 SV and wanted to be able to use the ABS bleed function (which I have not had to use yet because I bought a pressure pump kit to bleed my brake system and didn't need to break the line) and discovered lots of other good diagnostic stuff like a fuel injector test (after I had pulled them out and tested them each individually!!) etc. etc.
I also use a generic $100 scan tool which is fine for reading and erasing codes.

Here are some links to the latest Diabox software on ebay. It is listed by several sellers at various prices.

Professional diagnosis peugeot-citroen-DS-opel 2024 latest version diagbox 9.150

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/196822738358 ,
EUR 19.69 ApproximatelyAU $33.87 More than 10 available 65 sold. Note they are only selling the software for these prices. You do need the interface hardware as well.

Some do sell it together like this second one ! 3 available 9 sold
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3061292...2034671154&itmmeta=01JPE251HZM5SSSZ7PXNF2CHR1
EUR 127.49 ApproximatelyAU $219.32

The advantage of this latest software as I see it quoted from the seller,
WITH INSTALLATION VIDEO AND GUIDE! VERY EASY TO INSTALL!
Works with any Full chip hardware (interface) or normal board. If you have the machine, you can work with the Diagbox software. You just need to install it on your computer.
Very easy installation with installation video and installation guide all done by me for easier installation.
IT IS NOT A VIRTUAL MACHINE!
IT IS DIRECT INSTALLATION AND WORKS WITH WINDOWS 7-8-10 and 11.
It can diagnose CITROEN-PEUGEOT and OPEL cars and vans from 1998 to 2024 (for Opel some models may not be available) ELECTRIC-HYBRID-DIESEL AND GASOLINE.
ONLY Diag-Box version 9.150 software updated to 2024 is sent!

Note that I have not bought one of these
and currently do not have access to any PSA scanner. But it look better than the old types and I would consider buying it if I did buy any..
I have found using a virtual machine for other old software is terrible and makes it a real pain to use. Combined with the non user friendly original software I would not bother again !
Good luck jaahn

I've got to ask: why wouldn't you install a VM?

They seem so much easier to manage when it comes to Diagbox installs.

I also wouldn't be paying for Diagbox software. The interface/dongle yes, but Diagbox software, no.
