Mine is definately a 1962 model which the seller said it was when I bought it.
I ran it for around 20 minutes today and then changed the oil and filter. The oil was fairly black, I think that it had just been topped up with fresh oil before it was stored for years. Still happy that it's not leaking oil!
I ran it again to check, all good no leaks.

Yesterday I tried to find out what the steering clunk sound was, I don't think I mentioned that when on full lock there was a pretty nasty clunk sound. I was picturing having to pull the steering rack out which looked like a major job fixing.
I had my son turning the steering wheel back and forth while I was under the car and finally found that the left brake hose bracket was hitting. Maybe when was replacing the hose I bent it down I don't know. It wouldn't stay out of the way so I ended up putting a few tack welds to hold it it the right place. No clunk now!

Any tips on removing the dashboard?
I've got all of the bolts out apart from the ones to the steering column which I can't get to. Do you have to remove the steering column? I tried removing the speedometer, removed the two securing bolts but it won't come out either.
Removing the radio might gain me some better access?
