Its a mockup.. but possibly not too far wrong. Printed in just released l'Auto-Journal.

I'm hoping the rear lights get changed.. front is nice though...

Craig, im not Ren-nut, but i think i notice soe Vel-satis hints in the overall shape?..
I don't mind the look, the headlights almost remind me of the new BMW 5 series. Nice, and very contemporary.

I like it! Rear lights included!

cheers! Cheers Renomad

"why be normal"

i think that the current clio is better looking then that. it would be interesting to see what that would look like in the 2door sport version.

not entirely sold on that car. doesn't seem to be enough depth of impact on the front-end that makes you go "wow". a little bit shallow and bland looking for my likings. maybe its the grille

I think it looks good too.. the whole family will look very similar with this one, and then the new Twingo in its new shape.

There will be a Sport version, with expected output to be over 200bhp. There will be a 3 door, 5 door and a sedan. I'm also expecting a monospace because there is a Clio monospace due in summer next year that is somehow based on current Clio, future Clio and future Twingo. I also have seen theres a Micra Coupé-Cabriolet (same chassis platform as Clio III) so I kinda guess there'll be a Clio CC to heads up with the 206CC.

Ahhh she’s pretty at the front but they need to do something with that’s ass. I’m not really a fan of the new Renault rear ends.

I like it, but the bonnet looks too short and steeply raked. Not a bad looker though. Just fix the rear lights, make them more streamline.

Hopefully the new bonnet treatment gets the tick, I reckon it looks good. A lot more homogenous than the new Megane which seems to be a weird arrangement of conflicting angles and shutlines, also I reckon it looks better than the current version Clio where the front is a bit too edgy compared to the rest of the car. The original version is better.

The taillights should be reconsidered, by the time 2005 rolls around circles will be out, it is interesting how this Nissan Skyline round light fad seems to have taken over and spread to such unlikely vehicles such as the Magna and Commodore......

I think the round rear light only shows descendancy from the Twingo lights. The rear lights have always had a round main section that was divided into brake/blinker etc, even though the shape of the totoal plastic covering wasnt round.

My guess is that the Clio monospace that due next year will take over a bit of the cues from the Twingo and Clio as it is to tide over those needing a small monospace until the 2006/2007 Twingo arrives, as well as providing a monospace in the Clio range.

Expect changes though... :)

FWIW .. the front is OK - a little bland, but the sport version will get spiced up.

As for the rear lights dead Not a fan of the new "drop-back" type renault_ 's

Nice shape and style overall.

My only gripe is the rear lights, which I fear are a consession to the latest rear light styling craze. Renault can do better than that. It was once a leader rather than a follower, without sacrificing success. Some of Renault's most controversial and avant garde designs, like the R4 and R16 and the original Espace, became huge commercial successes. They did so by creating the trends of tommorrow, not by following the trends of the day.

Don't forget people - it's a mockup - someone has gone nuts with Adobe Photoshop. Final car will most definitely be different. I'd like to be proved wrong - anyone seen a picture of a journo-mockup & the final product which precisely match?

Not precisely ... but the 206cc concept (2-heart-6) was the same as the production car (except the chrome parts - which are now available aftermarket).

Every time I see one of those mockups, the final product always seems to look - different - sort of like the mockups get the proportions wrong, or the perspective isn't correct, or maybe it's the way the light is reflected/refracted from the "made up" bits.

I'm willing to bet that those rear lights change in some way however!
