Cleaning fuel tank- Peugeot 504 1973

I was just wondering if anyone had gone about this, any advice/tips or should I shop around and pay someone to do it for me?

My friend ran a radiator shop.

They used to put a 1/4 of a shovel of 1/4 crushed rock mixed with some gravel in the tank and strapped it to a concrete mixer for an hour.
