My Samsung Note 8 did a software update over the weekend. Since then I haven't been able to pair to the C5's bluetooth unit. Was working fine before hand. Any ideas?

Funny you should raise Bluetooth issues. The Bluetooth in my 2010 Citroen C5 X7 has stopped pairing with a ratty old iPhone 6S I'm running with iOS 14 (an interim device while I wait for the battery in my iPhone X to be replaced) as well as a Nokia 2.2 (running Android 10 which I was running until I could lay my hands on the iPhone).

It appears that plenty of others are reporting issues too (and have done for some time). e.g. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8565369

I did some digging over the weekend and worked out that I have an RD4 radio with a Nomade V2 Bluetooth module. The solution I'm thinking of is getting the head unit upgraded to an RD45, and removing the Nomade module. There's a place in Box Hill here in Melbourne that fits them, or they can ship. I'll pay to get them to install, because the wiring looks a little daunting, and the place specialises in Peugeot and Citroen audio (I'm hoping the multifunction display is new enough to work with it; if not they sell those too). http://aaautoparts.com.au/citroen-c2-c3-c4-c5-berlingo-rd45-rcz-bluetooth-usb-aux-radio/

If there are issues with the Cit bluetooth unit, might be easier (and cheaper) to replace it with something that is more std, eg. one of the Parrot units that will integrate with the RD4 (provide both phone and audio streaming) and steering wheel controls.

The RD45 has Bluetooth built in (rather than as a separate module) and I know it will integrate fully with the Citroen (provided that the software on the multifunction display is new enough, which it should be as it already supports Bluetooth).

The nomad unit can be reset by unplugging it it lives up under the far right side of dash some times you need to re configure the radio to wake up the nomad to allow pairing again.

I think it's a firmware issue. The basic issue is that the pairing screen does not pop up on the iPhone. I have to put the car in for a service later in the week, so will get the garage to unplug it, and to check Diagbox for any firmware updates...

No the unit locks up there is a tsb for this a dealer should get it done in 10 minutes

I did pull the fuse (F14) which was list in the manual as being for the Bluetooth system (among other things) on Friday. No joy...

EDIT - just jumped onto service.citroen.com. The TSB seems to be D5AW0104Q0 ('Impossible to twin a new telephone with the Nomad v2 bluetooth hands-free kit'). If this French thread is correct, then as suspected, the bulletin has been out for over seven years (~2013) and has as its remedy a firmware update.

Got the car back from a service and Bluetooth is pairing. A software update was performed and the computer reset. Don't know which thing sorted the issue, but it's sorted... I'm rockin' on... :headbanger"

(OTOH, my DPF remains stuffed. :( The Eolys bag had leaked and was empty at 48K km so it's been replaced... :dead: But I will have to take it back for cleaning because it's still clogged and therefore still bonging at me...)

Took me 4 or 5 years to pair my iPhone to my 2010 C5. The key, as I remember, is that Apple software insists on there being a code, even if Citroen does not propose one. I think I used 0000. The latest car (2015 X7 C5) I got the dealer to do it. And my latest phone, 11 Pro, I set it up with no hitch....

Popped into the dealer today to get the bluetooth unit sorted. After having my car for an hour, the recommendation was to replace the bluetooth unit with a new one. Needless to say I walked out.
